“During your struggle society is not a bunch of flowers, it is a bunch of cacti.”

Cactus photos from my archives, some free time, plus artistic tools provide the ‘sticky abstract’ images I imagined here.
The desert landscape has much unique and captivating flora; none are as striking as cacti. These spiny plants have adapted to thrive in harsh, arid environments, and their shapes and textures can make for stunning abstract photography subjects. Cacti are good candidates for abstract photography because of their interesting shapes and textures.
A little inventive post-processing can lead to some enticing ‘sticky’ results.

Kudos to you for playing with such a thorny topic. :D
Some really beautiful patterns to poke around with.
Well, Mark, once I started, it wasn’t something I couldn’t easily pull away from. I was pleased with how ‘sharp’ these images turned out to be. ;-)
Thanks!
Love the patterns the thorns make. I grow some under lights in my basement. Getting stuck hurts!
Thanks, Howard. Yes, they can be very painful. Luckily, we avoided contact when making these original photos.
I always laugh at images of cactus because I can get so involved with them I forget to check behind me when I squat. These are well done. Not sure I have one favorite but seem to continue to look at number four. I think it’s due to shadows of the thorns. And I wonder how they would look printed.
I hear squatting on cactus is generally not recommended. :D :D
Well, from your comment, Monte, I assume you either have or almost have experienced the results of said unfortunate squat. LOL
Perhaps I’m extra cautious because often, in natural cacti environments, you can also find Rattle Snakes.
Thanks, Monte!
