“This early piece of the morning is mine.”
― Crossing to Safety
Maggie and I usually get up early and are out for a walk with the rising sun. We seldom see many people but once in a while, we’ll come across something that seems to deserve a snapshot with my phone.
This is about as creative as I’ve been able to be in the last few weeks. Haha
None the less, it’s still creative, keeping the juices flowing. Glad Maggie gets you out.
Thanks, Monte.
Not sure how I missed some of your posts Earl. I thought I had an email subscription going which is how I usually get notified on blogs I follow. I can relate to these peaceful times walking in the early morning. One of us is usually out with Cosmo also right at dawn, sometimes before depending on of course, Cosmo. :-) I particularly like the dewy web photo. How does Maggie do with the deer sightings? Cosmo usually freaks. I hope all is going OK with you, Bonnie, and Maggie.
Maggie’s sight seems keyed mostly to motion. The slightest movement and she’s all over it but this deer froze in place as we passed on the other side of the street and I don’t believe Maggie truly recognized it for what it was, although she was sniffing the air like she knew something was up. I didn’t try to point it out to Maggie because I didn’t want to deal with the freak out I knew she’d have. Her days of deer chasing are behind her…and me! Haha
Thanks, Mark.
Mark, it may have screwed up the email notices on posts when I disabled the Jetpack Plugin. Whoops! But I will probably not re-enable it.
Ah OK. Yeah, I believe I subscribed through Jetpack. Any particular reason for not using it? I don’t use many of its features myself, but I like the stats on my dashboard and some of the subscribe/like/sharing features. It’s been 50/50 for me, but I think I have tweaked enough to not make it’s load on my site to be too much of an issue.
I’m still somewhat on the fence about Jetpack. I’ve been pushing to clean up and simplify Meandering Passage. While I do like a few of Jetpacks features I also feel like it’s a beast and that there’s some performance/efficiency overhead for it even if most of the options are disabled. I’ve also had a few conflicts between it and some other plugins. I sometimes think of it like the Wizard behind the curtain in the Wizard of OZ. A lot going on in there and most of it is invisible. Haha I wish they’d offer the functions also as stand-alone modules but that’s not good business practice from their perspective. I’m looking for alternatives.
