We knew when we stopped RV’ing (I can’t believe it’s been almost a year) that finding the suitable long-term follow-on would probably take time.  I’d even told Bonnie I thought it wouldn’t be a single step process but would probably be more like a “hop, skip and a jump*.”  Well after our first year we’ve completed the ‘hop’ part and next week we’re relocating to begin the ‘skip’ leg of the process.   This will only be a short distance move, more for logistics and to answer some needs than anything else.  It also keeps us in the general Charlotte, NC area near most of our children and grandchildren for at least one more year.

So for now, I’ll wish those of you who celebrate the holiday an early Happy Thanksgiving and for everyone else have a stupendous upcoming week. :-)

*hop, skip and a jump – a term most often used to describe a short distance.   However, in this article, it’s being used to define a three-step process for getting from one point to the other.   This expression, dating from the early 1700s, originally referred to an exercise or game involving these movements, but by the mid-1800s was also being used figuratively for the short distance covered.
