This past Thursday we drove the last leg of our 2016 RV travels from Charlotte, NC/Fort Mill, SC to Myrtle Beach, SC. I remember well our first white-knuckle RV drive to Myrtle Beach in January, 2015. Now, two years later, we have many miles behind us and while we’re still cautious we also have the confidence which comes from experience.
It’s great being here. This is our first view of an ocean in almost a year and we plan to remain here until we begin heading further south in late January, 2017.
Our travels for 2016 included 37 different stops/parks covering almost 6600 miles. Our longest stops of 30 days or more included Dale, TX; Leeds, UT; Big Timber, MT and Fort Mill, SC. You can view a map and our stops for 2016 here.
This marks the end of our second year of full-time RV’ing. We began this journey as a search for where we might want to retire. But now the journey has become the destination and so we will begin again, still very eager to see what awaits us down the road.
Wow, it’s been two years? Zipped right on by! That brings a smile to my face this morning, so thanks. Enjoy the time in Myrtle Beach and wherever your adventures take this coming year. May the year 2017 be filled with an abundance of love, joy, happiness, laughter, peace, serenity and chocolate.
Yes, two years, It’s hard for us to believe as well. Time is going by so very fast and there’s so much we want to see and do. Thank you for the well wishes and Bonnie said a loud AMEN to the chocolate! We hope 2017 is a wonderful year for you as well. May it be a year when dreams are fulfilled and you received all which you need.
Two years of travel behind you but so much more ahead. Merry Christmass and best wishes for the New Year.
Thanks, Steve! I hope you had a great Christmas and will have a wonderful New Year.
