“Life is an experimental journey undertaken involuntarily. It is a journey of the spirit through the material world and, since it is the spirit that travels, it is the spirit that is experienced. That is why there exist contemplative souls who have lived more intensely, more widely, more tumultuously than others who have lived their lives purely externally.” ― Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet
An almost nightly scene, weather permitting, just below our current RV Site.
Fernando Pessoa knows what’s up and it’s apparent that you do as well Brooks; Fernando with his words and you with your photos. That top photo is pure tranquillity in a 6×4 frame. Gorgeous.
Thanks, Cedric!
Well, Brooks, one thing that I can say about Texas is there is no shortage of views of the horizon. No trees to get in the way. :) Beautiful, tranquil shots, my friend. I agree with Cedric. Gorgeous.
Thanks, Paul. We were looking for a little tranquility and Texas is doing well by us in that regard.
Beautiful shots Brooks, as the others have mentioned, very tranquil. I can just imagine any stresses melting away seeing this every night, something I could use a little of lately. For now, I’ll just gaze at these and imagine I am there.
This stop is providing a nice opportunity to “recharge our batteries,” Mark. We’re very thankful we are able to enjoy places like this and experience this lifestyle. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
Very calming photos, Brooks. Especially the first one. Something about the curve of that (sand bar?) and the reflections – plus of course the color – is very soothing. Glad you are enjoying your time in Texas.
Yeah, Texas is providing a nice winter layover for us — nice temperatures but the wind never seems to stop blowing. It’s a great place for Maggie as well, she has more freedom here than anywhere else we’ve been. I hope you and Kathy are enjoying your new grandparent status.
What a stunning view – the tranquility is so obvious
Thanks, Andy. I’ve been keenly following your move and “change of scenery” via LensScraper.
Wow! The best word to express these images. I like the quote, and find the images fitting the quote. And, you and Fernando know what life’s about.
Monte, thanks. Fernando may know what it’s all about but this poor lad is still mostly seeking and struggling. I only get glimmers of a bigger picture once in a while.
