In the months following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the United States which brought down the World Trade Center Towers in New York City, artist Greg Laakso, a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Omaha constructed the “Tie Towers” sculpture with his perspective as a citizen, a soldier and an artist in memory of those who lost their lives.
“Tie Towers” is currently on display at the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum, Ashland, NE.
Let’s take a few moments to remember all those around the world who have lost their lives due to senseless hate and violence and hope for a better tomorrow.
