“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” ~~ Jawaharlal Nehru
Images of sedimentary deposits formed approximately 80 million years ago when the area which is now the State of Kansas was under the Western Interior Seaway.
I know I’ve told you this about a zillion times, so forgive my nearly constant yapping, but if you find mushroom rocks and sandstone deposits from ancient seas interesting, you have to block off some future calendar time and head for the Colorado Plateau. In my humble opinion, it is by far the most interesting and awe inspiring part of the continental United States. There simply is no place like it – anywhere.
OK. I’ll shut up now…….
Paul, I hear you, I believe you, and we’re going to make it to as many of those wonderful places as soon as we can! And don’t shut up…we’re not tire of hearing about it. :-)
Totally agree with Paul, the Colorado Plateau is breath taking and a very large area. I enjoy how science is discovering ways to give us some history of our world. But more enjoyable yet is the beauty of all of it.
My bucket is full and the to-do/to-see list is long — the more we see the more we want to see. Certainly not a bad way to be. May we never fully catch up! :-)
