Twice, on especially pretty weather days, we've taken our convertible for a hour+ drive north through the Yadkin Valley wine country to the Boonville, NC, area for lunch at the Sanders Ridge Vineyard, Winery and Restaurant. Lunch items feature unique new southern cuisine from their own organic gardens as well as other locally sourced foods.
What I've sampled has been very good. They do lunch only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with a Sunday brunch. They also do a family style dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
The scenery is lovely and I've always found a few photo opportunities either before or after the meal. On the latest trip the grapes looked to be about ready for picking…a local butterfly seemed to agree they were!
Looks like you and Bonnie aren’t letting any moss grow under your feet…good for you! You are adding to my and Kathy’s To Do list with every winery you visit. :)
This is a very nice series of photos as well. Almost looks like you were in the mountains, as opposed to the Yadkin Valley.
Tom, I don’t know about moss but we’ve been trying to enjoy the little really nice weather we’ve had this summer. Sanders Ridge is a good afternoon escape located out in the country. Their lunch has been very good so far.
Thanks!
Those grapes should produce some mighty fine wine.
Steve, these grapes look very good to me but then I don’t know what makes a good wine grape. Thanks.
That looks like such a beautiful place. Of course some of that may just be due to your photographic skills Earl, but I wouldn’t mind visiting this place.
