Earl Moore Photography
View from the Blue Ridge Parkway - Southern Virginia

This past Saturday was a blustery day with winds from the outer edge of Hurricane Irene, but Sunday was a beautiful day of clear skies and mild temperatures. A beautiful day that begged to be enjoyed touring on the on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. We had a great day enjoying the curvy roads, nature and the mountain views. Very relaxing!

There was further evidence a few trees are already turning autumn colors, as seen in the photo above.

This could be a postcard, Earl, and I mean that in a good way. The trees here are in the early stages of fall foliage, too. Glad you took the time to relax, now get back to work!

How often do we “think about” one of these perfect days, then miss the chance? I am glad you didn’t let this one get away. What a beautiful scene. Those signs of autumn are there, creeping up on us.

I’ve never been up on the Parkway when I didn’t see that bluish haze on the horizon (except for last year when it was all socked in with clouds). That was actually kind of spooky – in some places you could only see a few feet ahead. Then those curves you’re talking about scare the heck out of you.

Very nice image, but you’ll have to return in 3 – 4 weeks or so. Might as well get the full effect of autumn, right?

This is a beautiful area to tour in. I like your landscape shot very much. I’d like to visit there one day.

What a breathtaking photograph! The gentle transition of the green and yellow hues in the foreground to the cooler blue tones in the background is amazing.

Looks peaceful to me and inviting. I always feel that way when I leave the city and head for the country areas.
