Aside from the composition, lighting and the way you present this, and not to sound morbid or anything, it makes me glad that you have taken the time to show the beauty of the flower at this end stage.
Ken, thanks. I find those moments of transition, in this case of the blooms ending, to hold a certain fascination and substance for me. There is beauty in life’s purposeful cycles…be it flower or human being.
Also the quote was carefully selected. It and the photo are at odds with one another. The quote describes the normal fate of a bloom such as this but the photo stands in opposition by keeping the image alive in our minds, not forgotten. Even if we turn away our eyes it will still be there when we look back.
The ethereal light is a strong “character” in this touching story. The leaves surrounding and “pointing ” to the subject feel like attending angels- there for the final moments. What a beautiful image.
beautiful shot!
Thanks, Olivier.
So well seen. Love how those leaves shine out from the somber background.
Andrew, glad you liked it and thanks for the visit and comment.
Yes!
Monte, thanks.

At least that’s my reflections on this. :-)
