I have no clue what type of plant this is but I found the bloom and seeds to be both beautiful and captivating. From this angle a flock of white swans came to mind.

Ken, thanks. I searched Google images for cottonwood and none of the pictures of blooms or seed pods look like this. It may be related but I’m thinking it’s something else.
