Like a farmer, I harvest what’s ripe and for the moment early spring’s ripe here.
So, if you don’t care for images of buds and blooms you might want to give me a couple of weeks to get over my post winter enthusiasm. It will pass, I assure you.
Today’s photos are of what I believe is often called a tulip tree. These beautiful tight magenta buds were quite striking on the bare tree limbs.
I feel mentally played out this week so let me simply wish everyone a grand weekend and leave you with one thought.
“In an age of over-photographed icons, and an abundance of technically excellent yet repetitive portrayals of similar scenes and subjects, Intimate Landscapes are the photo-artist’s opportunity to express original vision, to explore new ground, and to include more of him or herself in the image.” – Guy Tal
Nice harvest, Earl! And, have a good weekend.
Thanks, Monte. I try and take a little break from the computer on the weekends so sometimes I’m a little late replying to comments. I hope your weekend was good.
I wish these trees grew around here. That is a beautiful image. It is refreshing to see that blossoms abound somewhere in the world! :-)
Don, I’m surprised they don’t grow there. Mark Graph, in Michigan, commented he had one in his yard so I’d think the weather wouldn’t be too much colder where you are easter Washington State?
One of my favorite species of trees. Nice image Earl!
Thank you, Steve! I hope you’re doing well.
Wonderful shot! we are weeks away from anything like this, so post away.
Ken, just look at it this way. You’ll be enjoying a beautiful Spring when it will probably already be hot and dry here. ;-)
Shiver me timbers, them’s some great ifnormtaoin.
I have one of these in my yard, except the blooms are yellow/orange. Of course, not blooming yet! :-(
Mark, as I told Ken above, it will probably be hot and humid here while you’re getting to enjoy a beautiful Spring. Then I’ll be looking at our brown grass as the sweat runs down my face thinking how lucky you are. :-)
It’s OK, Earl. If you harvest them early, just leave them on your hard drive and they will ripen in their own time. :)
Paul…some of those I harvest early don’t turn out so good! ;-)
What a wonderful spring image! I love that vibrant magenta colour and how well it contrasts to the silvery branches of the tree. Framing and depth of field are excellent too. I can’t take my eyes of that incredibly beautiful photo – thanks a lot for sharing!
You are most welcome, and thank you!
Une couleur violette intense. Une photo très belle. Magnifique.
