This book was delivered the other day and after a quick glance I placed it on the coffee table to await more time and a closer inspection. It was there when I took this photo, it was there when my wife, Bonnie, noticed it and said, “Did you buy a new book?” To which I replied, “Yes I did, it’s a book by…” “Oh look” she said, “it’s by Monte Stevens!” She reads my blog… Monte, it seems you have a following.
My impressions: The book is well done, the photos fit well as a group, all are excellent images and the printing and publishing are an acceptable quality — the black and white photos display a good grey tone range. My five favorite pics are:
- Coffee Conversation, page 7;
- Making His Move, page 17;
- Held in Reverence, page 21;
- Three Sentinals, page 26;
- Foggy Morning, page 27; and
- Rocking Chairs, the cover & page 39.
Yes, I know that’s six…I couldn’t pick another to eliminate. Monte, I like it, and as you see, it’s being kept in good company. ;-)
I am glad you like what I’ve done and are willing to express your impressions for me. Tell Bonnie thanks for noticing. Not sure about being in placed in the same company but do feel comfortable being on the same coffee table. Thanks, Earl!
