Joy in what we do
Joy in what we do

”A leaf fluttered in through the window this morning, as if supported by the rays of the sun, a bird settled on the fire escape, joy in the task of coffee, joy accompanied me as I walked.” – Anais Nin

Sometimes you come across someone who’s in the moment finding joy in what they do. For this moment I just happened to have my camera with me to capture it — she was preparing a noon meal for those less fortunate. It has little to do with what the person is doing and everything to do with the person and their attitude.

When we act on our concerns for others, a smile with come across our faces. You are so right, Earl.

Monte, I just need to keep remembering it until it becomes automatic to me! :-)

I get so much personal joy out of volunteering, especially when delivering meals to those who are shut-ins. One lady in particular is blind but always greets you with kind words and a smile. It always makes my day!!

Steve, I totally understand. The simplest things often bring the greatest joy, don’t they.

What a beautiful expression – her joy is infectious.

It was certainly infectious to me…I was smiling almost as much as she was when making this shot!
