Butterfly
Butterfly on Green
Another photo from a recent walk around the long path in Hurley Park near my home. This particular walk was very productive photo wise. Photos of the wood planks and shadows and the abandoned bench recently posted came from this same mornings walk and there will be several more from this group posted in the days to come.

What made this particular morning productive? I can only relate I felt I was in “the moment” — my eyes were fresh, my imagination was engaged and my mind was processing possibilities. I experienced the photos as much as saw them and it all seemed almost automatic. My “keepers” to “reject” ratio was much higher then normal from this batch of photos.

Love the colors in this one, the green and yellow really pop on my monitor. I really like your imagination such as adding that monarch butterfly, Earl, it adds so much to the image. On the serious side you did have a good keeper ratio. We sure do need those days, especially to pass along to our friends. Thanks!

Don’t you just love those days? They make up for all of the days when the keeper:reject ratio is really low; however, you need those low days to appreciate the highs! Excellent shot, Earl.

Paul, thanks! Your absolutely right, those lows do make you appreciate the highs. I hope you’re having a good weekend.

Although you did not even try to do closer shot of this pretty monarch, I like this gentle and very subtle composition :)) Great one !

Mariana, thanks. I was shooting with a 105mm prime lens and physically the butterfly wouldn’t let me get closer also I thought the green leaves and yellow background were strong elements of the photo.
