“Too often in life we pass by important things. Let’s pause, change perspective and see things more clearly.” – Sergio da Silva – From the book “Water, Mirror of the World”
Don’t underestimate the power and importance of that pause. There’s a saying, “It only takes a minute to change your life” and that minute is usually a pause — a delay, a breather, a moment to not react to impulse, a moment to forget preconceptions, a moment of quiet to gather clarity.
It’s often during a pause, that moment of clarity, when a photographic composition is conceived, the camera placed, the shutter tripped and a spectacular moment captured.
Pausing for a moment can be the best gift you’ll ever give yourself.
Photo of a cold mountain stream processed with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and the Topaz Simplify plug-in.
I like the stream shot very much. Nice use of special processing too.
Thanks don, For certain shots this “simplified” process works well — the secret is knowing when to use it.
Nice composition, clean and sharp using the three programs and not overdone
Don, I appreciate the comment on not being overdone. I sometimes wonder if I’ve crossed “a line” with processing. I always try to stop just short of that point. I hope you’re enjoying some cooler weather this week, as we are. :-)
There is a cool feeling in this image due to the rich greens, I almost feel like putting on sweater. Wonderful quote and relevant in my life. These last 20 years, or so, have been my conversion to the pauses required in life. They are not just there to see more things or to see them more clearly but to hear, nurture and enrich us. Thanks for sharing your gift!
