With spring almost here there’s been “opportunities” this week for working in our yard — weeding the flower beds, fertilizing and seeding the yard, and spreading pine needles among the shrubs and plants around the house. Some of these chores will prevent additional work as spring turns to summer, such as the pine needles, while others will mean more work, the fertilizer (and mowing yard.)
I have to get as much done outside as early as possible before my spring allergies begin in ernest. The worst allergy period for me is the month of April — tree pollen.
Each day now the grass is greener and more plants are budding/blooming. Spring flowers will also soon be making their appearance. I’ll certainly be out enjoying the sights this weekend.
May each of you have a good weekend as well.
A fine picture of the pond and its setting. I glad that you are experiencing the onset of spring. It seems about time around here! :-) We too get hammered with tree pollen in a few more weeks.
Don, thanks. It’s been a weekend of working out in the yard so it really seems like spring to me now. Luckily the tree pollen has gotten bad yet.
I can look out the kitchen window and watch the weeds grow an inch per day in my garden plot. Hopefully late next week I will be able to begin attacking them with my trusty hoe.
Steve, how come weeds grow so much faster then any other plant? :-)
Hi Earl,
It’s so nice to finally have a taste of Spring. I enjoyed some photography yesterday in Maine, with temps approaching 70 degrees, it was refreshing not to have numb fingers while shooting.
I enjoy this shot. I love the colors and the promise of Spring to arrive. It looks like my backyard, just kidding, I wish. Great shot.
Alan
Alan, thanks! We’ve gotten up into the mid-70’s here this week and it unreal — it seems strange to be wearing a short-sleeve shirt again.
I like the way you have balanced the colors in this. The golds and yellow are dispersed amongst the greens and reddish browns in just the right way to take me front to back in the photo. I am loving this promise of Spring. Weeds and all. What a joy!
Anita, Once again it was “Mother Nature” who made the image, I only had to stand at the right spot and snap the photo. She does great work! ;-)
