While I’ve been known to “enhance” what comes from the camera during post-processing I seldom stray too far from the original — I would be considered somewhat conservative in that regard.
However, often for my own enjoyment I’ll select a photo and go a bit wild in Photoshop just to see what I can create. This process is like cooking without a recipe and certainly produces some unpalatable results, but every once in a while I’ll stumble upon something I like — call it an accident if you must.
I usually keep these “accidents” to myself but today I felt like posting something different, so why not — maybe you like or maybe you don’t. I believe keeping an open mind and exploring new thoughts and possibilities is important. The older I get the more I realize this but I’ll be the first to admit I don’t always practice it so well. I do think that mentally we must be prepared for “creative accidents.”

Another weeks gone by — thanks again to all those who visited and commented. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
I also like to play around from time to time in Photoshop and Topaz, very nice image.
Don, thanks. I don’t know if I’d call it a very nice image…interesting maybe, but there is something about it I like that I can’t quite put my finger on.
Beautiful effect nevertheless for an accident and original nevertheless all is allowed in Article good day Earl
Thank you for your kind comment — I agree “all” is allowed. :-)
Is a “creative accident” like a “surprise”? It’s at least one of the sub-categories, I think!
My first thought when I saw this was that you’d posted a film negative. At first blush, that’s actually what I thought it was. Make a “positive” and you’ve got dark trees and a light sky in the background. Interesting effect, I guess. But if I were you, I’d move on to other “new thoughts”! (Just kidding)
Paul, it definitely resembles a negative in some respects, but yet not in some ways, and no doubt a “creative accident” and a “surprise” are at least first cousins. Whither this is judged good, bad or indifferent, moving on to “new thoughts” seems a natural process. I appreciate your comments…kidding or not! ;-)
I somewhat feel this is what the woods look like if you stuck your finger in an electrical outlet. :-)
Mark, LOL, I have say I’m enjoying the comments this image is soliciting — it was worth posting it just for that! ;-)
I like your experiment in processing. Glad you decided to share it with our blogger crew. I like the light, almost high-key feel of the shot. An all consuming frost effect. Very good.
Don, thanks, I felt the white almost negative effect of the trees spoke, much as you said, of winter and/or frost. While the golden brown leaves of the smaller tree was of seasons past and perhaps indicating seasons yet to come.
Hey, I still like it and I’m glad that you do. I guess if everything was exactly alike there wouldn’t be much to talk about, would there! ;-)
A work of art!
Nicely done! bravo !
