Today’s photo is from the same Amaryllis plant as yesterdays. This image is not as powerful or as abstractly intriguing as yesterdays but it’s one I like none-the-less.
I’ve found when photographing flowers I’m drawn to seeking out the buds which are ready to burst into bloom — there’s some essences of energy present in these that’s almost tangible. Perhaps they represent a moment of birth or a moment when potential is recognized.
Since I’ve never captured those feelings in an image to my satisfaction, I continue taking photos of flower buds.
No high-tech involved in the making of this photo. The lighting was an old clip-on mechanics trouble light fastened to a mop handle leaning against the table in front and to the left of the flower — yea, I really need to think about some decent light stands and lighting, but it worked. ;-)
Post-processing included the use of Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop CS4, and Nik Color Efex Pro.
I always love these flowers…I kept trying to capture the feel of the flower but never seem to get the photo I want… thanks for sharing your images.
I sometimes wonder if perhaps some things were never meant to be captured.
“Since Ive never captured those feelings in an image to my satisfaction, I continue taking photos of flower buds.”
Man can I relate to that statement. So, we just keep pressing the shutter button as we look inward and through our viewfinders.
Absolutely…what else can we do as photographers and inward explorers! ;-)
Superb detail of this flowers and a good framing, good catch of sight, cheer!
