I’ve always been someone aware of the past, feeling the importance of those things that make us who we are, those experiences which mold our very mental and emotional being. So while moving through life, from one room to the next, I’ve pulled many a door closed behind me but I’ve always attempted to remember where those doors have led.
These doors however, may have been forgotten by those on the other side. They’ve been sealed and perhaps walled over on the inside. You can see some of the yellow/orange foam wall insulation expanded through gaps between wall boards and around the door.
If these doors could talk there would probably be a few stories to tell, things loaded and unloaded, the various people doing the work, a time when things were much different. The markings on the walls and doors showing countless bumps and scrapes almost tell a story of their own.
This photo was taken in available light, dim, shooting wide open at f/2.8 and ISO400. These doors are part of the loading dock from yesterdays photo.
Beautiful comments, beautiful story, AMAZING DOORS! Love how you caputure the feeling and life that they have led. Nicely done!
Thanks you! I appreciate the comments and feedback.
I agree with Yvonne and to add to that, an interesting bit of post processing. What did you use?
Thanks, Paul. Post-processing included a few adjustments in Lightroom, a few layer adjustments in Photoshop CS4 as well as the use of some features of Photoshop plugins Nik Color Efex, and Topaz Simplify.
Excellent story, as usual. I like the theme of doors and find myself drawn to them also. Your comments caused me to reflect on how many I’ve closed and opened and how many I remember. That would make an interesting list.
Thanks, Monte.
Yeeeahhh man – grungy – I like it!
I knew the bear man would like grungy! ;-)
