Rain, rain

Morning, around the bend

Morning, Just Around the Bend

I just emptied 5.5 inches of rain from our rain gauge. Most of it fell since yesterday morning as what’s left of Hurricane/Tropical Depression/Storm Ida continues to dump rain in the area. Portions of my backyard look like swampland with water standing over wide areas. I’d love a sunning morning and day about now.

Update – Nov 13th, 2009: There was 2.75 inches of additional rain in the gauge this morning.

You may notice a new web color scheme for Meandering Passage I installed this morning. I was tired of the white background so decided to go with some color. We’ll see how this grows on me. :-)

Ah, yes a splash of color. Looks like you’re stepping out of the comfort zone. I like it!

We flew in and out of Charlotte mid-afternoon yesterday and it was a steady rain then. Not a beach day!

I know what you mean about needing a sunny day; by the middle of December I always feel the same way.

The autumn colored hillside is very pretty. The excessive water must be a thing to contend with. That much rain can’t soak in I would think so it means flooded streets and drains. Very nice, sunny post today anyway!

Wow! 5.5 inches of rain! I couldn’t imagine that much rain here in Charleston. It’d have nowhere to go! It rained all day yesterday, accumulating to about 1 inch or so, perhaps more, but not even close to 5.5 inches! Do you see animals walking down the street two-by-two? ;-)

Earl: I don’t know if you could even get close to Bull Hole! I would imagine that the water is up very high! Hmmm, I may have to make a trip over there on Saturday morning if I can get my head off of the pillow. I got my D300 back yesterday and it is working and looks better than new. They did a great job on cleaning it and repair it.
