What perfect fall weather we experienced this past weekend–it reminded me why this is my favorite time of year.
Friday, I drove to Cooleemee River Park to take photos. This was my first visit to this location since spring. I arrived early enough to capture the morning light as it settled on the dam and falls. I do so enjoy the rich earthy colors coming alive in morning light.
On Sunday I brought my wife back to the park. She’s heard me talk of it and has seen many of my photos but had never been there. We had the park to ourselves for most of our visit as we walked, talked, sat beside the river in mutual silence, and held hands. She loved the feel of the place and I’m sure now she’ll want to return.
Of course, I also managed to take a few photos but it was her who said I should bring my camera as we were leaving home. ;-)
Well, that’s a beautiful scene there Earl and you described a nice, romantic moment. I need to get back over that way when the leaves turn colors and shoot some. I really like that place.
I agree, the early morning light is sweet!
@Paul: It was beautiful there this weekend but will be even better when the leaves have color.
@Steve: When the morning light at this river location comes over tress and suddenly strikes the dam and water it’s striking.
Your wife is a “gem” to suggest your camera (which can be a diversion for hubby)! :-)
I like the shot very much. Looks like a great place to hang out… and get some good pictures.
Definitely looks like a great place to share with someone. (or two including your camera. ;-) )
I agree that your wife is a “gem”. And, now that she is likely to be in favor of more trips to this spot, we will all benefit by seeing more lovely photos like this one as the colors change. Sounds like a big all-around win to me.
