Across the River
Above all, I craved to seize the whole essence, in the confines of one single photograph, of some situation that was in the process of unrolling itself before my eyes.
To take photographs means to recognize – simultaneously and within a fraction of a second – both the fact itself and the rigorous organization of visually perceived forms that give it meaning. It is putting one’s head, one’s eye and one’s heart on the same axis.
— Henri Cartier-Bresson
I like the way the streams of water in the river complement the similar lines in the sky.
A beautiful shot.
You asked about a book on the eastern Washington terrain. None planned at present. I’ll have to see how the photos stack up over time. Thanks for asking.
I also like how the lines of the creek bed are echoed in the sky. Great image!
The framing here is extremely effective. All those converging lines are hypnotic.
