This week between weather that would be more fitting for the North-West (rainy and cloudy every day) and trying to keep close observations on our dog Foster, in case of another seizure, I’d not taken any photos and by yesterday it was getting to me.
So I grabbed a camera and headed to the yard to see what I could find to photograph. While I don’t think I got any “great” shots just the process of taking them greatly improved my mood.
We have several trees in our yard that I believe are some variety of Maple. Yes, as I’ve confessed before, I’m terrible at plant/tree identification. New leaves on these trees begin with a reddish color and then turn green as then mature. In the fall they turn golden yellow, orange and red before falling off.
In the photo above I happened to be in the right place at the right time as a little sunlight broke through the swiftly moving clouds and surrounding leaves. I snapped this shot and then the sunlight was gone as quickly as it came–natures own spot lighting.
The wonderful break through of sunlight was all you needed to get this fine shot. Lovely color and detail. Nicely arranged in the frame too. Well done.
