Winters Reach
Grey trees, grey skies and grey outside with mist and rain these last two days.
Hopefully there’s nice sunny weather on the way. I’m planning on a visit to my daughter in a little over two weeks and to take in the Spring Festival of Flowers at Biltmore Estate, Asheville, NC.
Of course I’ll have camera, tripod and an assorted selection of lens for taking photos. It’s a shame this is falling outside of the May 1st start date for SoFoBoMo ’09. It would make a nice book. I’ll have to come up with something else…or maybe I’ll do two books.
Humm…or maybe not! ;-)
Speaking of SoFoBoMo, interesting reading of Gordon McGregor’s thoughts on PDF’s as a format for SoFoBoMo and books in general. While I readily see and acknowledge certain advantages of electronic documents (including books), I know for me and many others there’s still something special about a physical book.
Perhaps with the birth of a few more “electronic” generations, books in electronic form will be the norm and printed books will be collector and museum pieces.
I really like how the tree crowns stand strong against the sky. I have hiked through many a stand of trees that looked just like this one.
@Steve: Yea, to stand below looking up at swaying tree crowns and clouds moving across the sky can make one feel lightheaded but so alive.
I like the strong upward sweep of these beautiful trees. Fine range of tones in this shot too. And, you happened to catch an interesting sky. Fine image.
