Sloan Park Gazebo
After due consideration I’ve signed up for the SoFoBoMo ’09 photo book project.
SoFoBoMo (Solo Photo Book Month) is where photographers “volunteer” to create a real physical photo book, from start to finish, in a months (31 days) time, or less. This book doesn’t have to be printed it can be in a digital file format, such as a PDF file. It must contain at least 35 photos, all taken within the designated fuzzy month.
Each photographer decides on their own fuzzy month, 31 days, with the start and end dates between May 1, 2009 and June 30, 2009. In other words, if you start on May 1, your month ends on June 1. If you start on May 15, your month ends on June 15.
It’s all based upon a trust system and if you cheat you’ll be cheating yourself. The reward is to challenge yourself.
To be honest, I hesitated to sign up and I’m not sure if I’m excited about it. Perhaps that excitement will come as the date draws closer. I haven’t gotten as far as deciding on a theme for my project/book but I’m sure it will come to me.
From the early number of signups I’m expecting heavy participation. Should be interesting.
Well, as one who participated last year, I can say that you will probably enjoy it. It is quite an experience and, even though I didn’t make a physical book, it was still a joy to learn how to do it. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun.
Hey Paul,
I’m sure I’ll enjoy it once I’ve had a chance to think about it more. I’m drawing a complete blank at the moment about a theme–glad there’s some time here to relax and let something come to mind. :-)
