Chairs With View – Sunset overlooking the James River, VA
We were enjoying a glass of wine before dinner when I noticed the sunset scene outside. I excused myself to step onto the patio for this photograph.
These four rocking chairs were positioned to overlook a small pond, a water feature for a surrounding golf course. Beyond you can see a thin line of trees and then the waters of the James River. The warm orange glow of the fading sunset was being picked up by both the pond and the small tables beside the chairs.
As a nice final touch, the Moon and Venus made an appearance in the darkening night sky above.
This particular spot is about 20 miles up river (NW) from Newport News, VA, not far from the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. The James River is approximately 1.8 miles wide here.
As you can gather from this post we’ve returned from our get-away. Had a nice relaxing time and I got some photos I like.
