During my reading this morning I came across an article by Mike Johnson confessing his opinion of digital sucking at black-and-white photography may be changing with his use of Nikon’s D700 D-SLR.

I wasn’t familiar with “the paper towel test” so I got a little education by following the included link.
I’ve only used my D700 a few times for B&W but have been pleased those times. Anyone with personal experience with D700 and B&W?
I read about this too, Earl. Now I feel that I have to try the paper towel test. :-) It is an interesting test and, beyond that, he showed how to use the results of that test to make sure to get the shot that you want to get. If you know your camera’s limits, you can exploit them. I like it!
