While in Florida, we took a day off from our sad chores to go to the beach.  By chance it turned out to be one of the best weather days of the whole week.

I thought I would share a few photos I liked from that day.

I stepped out of my comfort zone on this day and actually asked strangers if I could take their picture.  I’ll gladly give some credit to my friend Paul Lester for inspiring me in this regard.  I’ve gained courage from his own experiences learning to approach people.

I’ve one last shot from the beach.  I took some flack from my wife but what’s the beach without pretty girls in bikinis?  ;-)

  1. Hey Earl,

Great shots. I’ve never approached strangers in regards to photographing them. Something I should try.

As an aside, I really liked the layout of your post. It came in exactly the same in my gReader too. Did you format the thumbnails manually with the shot info (aperture/shutterspeed)as the captions or did you use some wordpress related plugin to set up the post more automatically. It’s a nice clean layout with the info.

  2. Hi Richard,

    Thanks!

I created the post/layout offline in a blogging client called “ecto” and did the shot info manually. I wish it was automatic but it didn’t take very long to do.

Glad it came across well in gReader.

  3. Way to go, Earl! You approached the people, asked, they said ‘Yes!’. Pretty easy, isn’t it?! :-) Now, regarding that woman in the bikini … how else are we going to know that you went to the beach if there isn’t a scantily clad women somewhere laying about?!!! :-)

  4. Paul,

It’ll be much easier next time.

Hey, I knew there would be fans of that last photo! ;-)
