This past weekend was my step-daughters wedding. It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens (DSBG) in Belmont, NC.
There were concerns about the weather when the date was first set for July 14th, outdoors, summer, in the south. However, the weather cooperated better then we could of ever hoped. It was slightly overcast, not terribly hot and no rain.
After the ceremony a wonderful reception was held indoors at DSBG, with drinks and dinner followed by dancing and in general a great time. A friend of mine, Jim Campbell of Sound Entertainment, provided the music and sound systems for the event. Nice job of keeping the dance floor busy, Jim…of course the open bar didn’t hurt. ;-)
Katie Langley photographed the ceremony and the reception that followed. Out of my own interest in photography, I observed Katie working. She did a great job, seemed to be everywhere, and definitely got a work-out during the event. There must of been about forty pounds of Nikon cameras/lenses hanging on her shoulders for most of the day. She seemed to enjoy what she was doing and I look forward to seeing the results.
I did the photos of the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner and enjoyed the opportunity to contribute.
My compliments to all the many people who planned and had a part in this wedding. One thing I’ll remember, for all the seriousness, it was fun and weddings should be fun!
May there be many, many years of fun for Mr. and Mrs. Lee Peindl.
