Kent Newsome is asking bloggers he reads to help him rebuild his reading list by suggesting five of their favorite blogs.  Kent, here’s my contributions and they’re not Mac sites.  ;-)

I find that my subscriptions fall into two categories, those that provide me the latest technical news and views and those that let me escape for a few moments to view things differently or through someone else’s eyes.  I tried to select a couple of each.

1.  Paul Lester – Paul Lester Photo – is a programmer by day and a photographer by heart.  I enjoy Paul’s writing and photographs because it’s he shares some of the thoughts and feelings behind each photo.  Read him for a while and you start to feel like you know him.  Kent I think you’ve already got this one but I wanted to list it for others.

2.  Alan Levine – CogDogBlog – can always be counted on to speak his mind. You may not always agree with him but often he will make you think.  He believes that sometimes you just need to stir the pot.

3.  Fraser Kelton – Disruptive Thoughts – is a blogger from Ontario, Canada, who writes about start-up’s, entrepreneurship, innovations, and other interest.

4.  David Rogers – Groundhog Day – Dave is a retired navy commander with three children living in Florida. His blog covers those subjects that catch his interest and they’re always served with a touch of insight.

5. Marek Uliasz – Mountain Wafarer / Paddling With A Camera – Marek has 20 years of paddling experience in Poland and the Baltic Sea plus 17 years in Colorado.  If you love beautiful photo’s and sometimes wish you were out on the water enjoying nature then this may offer a few moments of escape.

I hope there’s something here you’ll enjoy.

Hi Earl,

Thanks for mentioning me in this list! Coming from a fellow Mac enthusiast makes it even sweeter :)

You’re in North Carolina… any chance you’re a Duke fan?

Thanks again, Fraser

As far as UNC is concerned, you do a fantastic job of that Dad.

If I ever have a son, I may have to let you convert him into a UNC fan just so I can find some sort of revenge of my own in life.
