During recent conversations with some of my friends I’ve voiced several times that this whole Windows Vista update reminds me of the Windows ME (yes I upgraded to ME) release. But I spoke from the struggling release more then the product point of view. My friends, being Windows users, strongly argued the point.
Well it seems the the stink is spreading and starting to stick to Vista. I don’t know that Vista deserves this as I think Vista is definitely a better improvement over XP then ME was to ’98. But you can’t blame people if they are less then enthusiastic about paying good money for a product who’s claim to fame is that it fixes all the problems of the last version. Vista and ME being mentioned in the same sentence is not good news for Microsoft.
» Windows Vista = Windows Me II? | Hardware 2.0 | ZDNet.com:
Over the past few weeks I’ve come across a number of articles on tech sites that are putting Windows Vista and Windows Me in the same sentence. Not good. Others are more blatant and are directly comparing Vista to Me. That’s really bad and not the kind of comparisons that are going to fuel sales.

Earl, nothing new about this. Micro$oft has a history of creating ‘new’ versions that should have really been fixes. They just slap a new look and feel on it, use the same code underneath and charge you a couple of hundred for the pleasure.
I’m not even thinking about going to Vista until there have been several service packs released, even then, I doubt that I’ll bite!
