According to a report by the BBC, there will be a media event on Monday, April 2nd, to announce an “exciting new digital offering” with Steve Jobs of Apple as special guest.
Speculation is that iTunes may at last have full access to the Beatles music. None of the Beatles tracks are currently available for purchase or download on any online music service so this would be a substantial boost for iTunes.
The other possibility seems to be that perhaps EMI may be agreeable to sell it’s music via iTunes without copy protection. This would perhaps be an even bigger deal then the Beatles music.
EMI would not comment on the subject of the event.
