When I made my switch from Windows to Mac OS X I didn’t know anyone who was using OS X. I did have some previous experience with earlier Mac OS’s ( 8 & 9). I first made the switch by purchasing an Apple laptop and within a year I like it enough to purchase a PowerMac desktop. I’ve since used nothing else at home except for an occasional game that I’ll play on my older Windows PC.

I’ve always been free to tell those who ask how much I like Mac OS X and that I think Apple makes some of the better hardware as well. I also tell them that like any other system there sometimes are problems but it’s been my experience that the problems are much less then with most Windows Systems. I’ve never went out of my way to be an Apple evangelist.

Due to my example I know of two people that are now using Apples instead of a Windows PC. They, like me, are very happy with their experience. That’s the way it seems to work most times. Below is a post from The Mac Observer concerning someone else who I was surprised to see has joined the ranks.

Admitting “I’ve never been the biggest Apple booster,” PC Magazine’s Jim Louderback admitted in a column published Thursday that he likes the 17-inch Intel iMac he recently bought and that “some of Apple’s recent moves leave me even more impressed.” He began by citing the new Mac Pro, whose industrial design he describes as “breathtaking,” thanks to the ease with which users can swap out SATA hard drives and add RAM.” The new version of OS X is also impressive,” he added. “After a recent tour, I found myself constantly asking, ‘When will Vista do that?'”
