Have you ever had one of those jobs or assignments that you know couldn’t really be classified as a “job?” You know what I mean…it’s too much fun and you enjoy it too much for it to really be a job. It almost makes you feel you should be looking over your shoulder because it’s certain that someone is going to notice and realize that you’re not really “working.”
I’ve been lucky to have a number of these moments in my life. On gskinner.com there is a post about a web design assignment at Segway that makes me think that this would certainly be one of those moments.
As part of the project, they flew me in to New Hampshire to meet the team, and play with the new toys. There’s a lot of really smart, personable folk at Segway, working on some really neat projects…
I love the New England area so this has an instant appeal to me (I lived in Vermont for a short period many years ago). On top of that your tossing in “playing” with some high-tech fun toys (You’ve got to know the product, right?). I’m there! Perhaps what really pushed this over the top is that you can tell from reading the post and descriptions that the Segway organization nourishes individual creativity.
Nice work if you can get it?
