We departed Myrtle Beach, SC, yesterday and drove a little over 200 miles inland to the Kinards, SC, area. We’re in route to our first AGS  job in Nashville, TN. We’ll spend a few days here and then a couple more days in the Knoxville, TN area before arriving in Nashville early next week.

Training went very well. Our trainers, Eric and Jackie, are a wonderful and knowledgable couple whom we count as new friends. They’re also true dog lovers, going well beyond the call of duty by allowing Maggie into their home to ease her separation and storm anxieties. We/I really appreciated that act of kindness. Maggie was on her best behavior and graduated with honors.  Bonnie and I managed to squeak by!

  1. Nashville, huh? Now there’s a busy southern city. So is Knoxville, actually. We’ve been through both places a few times. Not to mention Memphis. I like all 3 cities (they’re a lot more interesting than Rochester!). I used to have to go to Knoxville on occasion for work-related stuff and of course it’s not far from the Smokies. Are you staying someplace close to I-40 or heading down toward Gatlinburg? That place has to be busy this time of year……

    • No, not heading down toward Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge — to busy and touristy for our purpose. We’ll be at a campsite in Sevierville, TN, a little outside of Knoxville. We’re looking forward to spending a little time around Nashville. We’ll be there about two and a half weeks. I just hope we have some time to see a few things. It all depends on how this first job goes for us.

  2. Congratulations to Maggie and glad you guys squeaked by. Now on to Nashville and a new experience. Expecting to see some images of Cades Cove, Roaring Fork and foggy mornings. Enjoy yourselves.

    • Yeah, Monte, Maggie may have carried us through this. :-) Don’t know about all those images you mentioned. I don’t believe we’ll have time for a lot of that.

  3. Congrats to all the new grads
