It’s become a tradition here that Christmas decorations go up on Thanksgiving and the weekend that follows. My wife, Bonnie, says that if we don’t but them up at least this early we will not have a chance to fully enjoy them before having to take them down again — I can’t argue with her [...]

The American holiday of Thanksgiving dates back to the early 1600s when the Pilgrims began settling in North America. Once established and finding that with hard work there could be a bountiful harvest they celebrated by gathering and giving thanks.
I’ve so much to be grateful for and I try and be thankful each day. I’m [...]

As I continue this journey with photography I’ve come to identify certain objects or compositions which have a strong natural appeal for me–a path fading off into the distance, an empty bench in the midst of nature and the view over an arched footbridge. I will like most compositions featuring these things.
I may need to [...]

I woke a little later then normal this morning and proceeded with my normal morning routine–put on coffee, feed the dogs (giving Foster his anti-seizure medicine), checking email and reading blog feeds. I’d decided yesterday if this morning was clear I’d drive over to the Cooleemee River Park (Bull Hole) and see how high the [...]
