Carousel long exposure photo

I was experimenting with longer exposure times while photographing a spinning carousel ride. I got varying results but this is one I liked. Kind of reminds me of the warp effects from some of the Star Trek movies. I wonder if this family realized how fast they appeared to be going? ;-)

A quote to fit the topic:

Many a trip continues long after movement in time and space have ceased. – John Steinbeck

No doubt in the memory of these children, this trip will continue.

I loved to ride the carousel as a kid; had I actually known it was moving that quickly then I never would have set foot on the thing!

Oh my god, I think I have to run to the bathroom……the carousel makes me too dizzy. Great details, yet a lot of movement blur. I like it!

I like the extreme feeling of speed. I remember that carousels go fast… that and trying to throw a brass ring into the target to get a free ride. Nice shot.

Brings back sweet memories and a terrific sense of the movement.
