Building Storm

I find the resilience of people to be amazing.

While these are your normal storm clouds they’re reminiscent of the smoke clouds billowing two miles high over the current Los Angeles (LA) fires.

How daunting it must be to see something so powerful and destructive approaching your home. Yet people hang on, they fight and return to rebuild what was lost.

  1. A beautiful cloud shot. I like the view at and above the clouds. A very attractive image.
I surprised and saddened to learn that the fire of “set.” I can’t imagine anyone launching such a destructive force.

  2. I just love clods like this, but I don’t know how to say this when at the same time sending my deepest thoughts to all the people struggling for their lives near this wildfire.

  3. The stories that we read and some of the interviews with people who have survived this are amazing. I don’t flatter myself that I would handle a disaster of this proportion with anything close to their grace. As for the arsonist, there is no punishment too severe. The destruction of property and burden on people’s lives from which some may never fully recover is bad enough, but two firefighters lost their lives fighting this fire. That makes this madman a cold-hearted killer and monster.

  4. As a forester, I spent a good part of my summers involved in fire control. It’s one of the few jobs that can be thrilling and frightening all at the same time. It’s also an extremely dirty job!
