Flowers in white and purple

Last week I mounted my Nikon 200mm Macro lens on my Nikon D300 to make a few macro photos. I’ve not used this lens much and this is the first time I’ve used it with the D300 but the more I use it the more I like it.

It takes a more attention to detail regarding the DOF then the Nikon 105mm Macro lens but I believe it has the potential for sharper photos.

This is a fine close up and good enough reason to try this lens some more. I like the amount of blur behind the principal blossom. A fine image.

I especially like the way the falling off of focus pull me through the image. Very nice. I hope you experiment more with this lens.

I was going to say the same thing as Anita! Nice Earl !
I agree. The 200 does take some getting used to, but it is about as sharp as they come.

@Don, @Anita & @Mark: Thanks for the comments on this image! I’m pleased that each of you like it.

Mark, I’m learning the personality of the 200mm and hope to get more proficient using it. Seeing the photos that you’ve done with your 200mm lens inspires me to keep practicing.
