NPD Groups monthly console sales numbers were a surprise for January with the Sony PS3 in second place ahead of the Microsoft Xbox 360 and just behind Nintendo’s WII.
Ben Kuchera, Ars Technica, believes one reason for the recent success of the PS3 is that Blu-ray has all but won the HD disk format wars and the PS3 is being reconized as arguably the most capable player on the market.
My own recent acquisition of a PS3 certainly supports the fact that the PS3 makes a great BD player. I’ve been extremely happy with my decision and think that the PS3 is the best deal going if your thinking Blu-ray.
