The past Saturday, Sept. 29th, we went to the Cleveland County Fair in NC with my step-daughter, and her husband.
The Cleveland County Fair is one of the largest in NC and has all the usual “attractions” associated with county fairs. There’s the various rides often looking like they need of some repair, the exhibits only the locals could ever appreciate, and the fair food which is one of the best parts.
We’re talking about hot sausage, cheese fries, BBQ, roasted sweet corn, smoked turkey legs, and ice cream among other favorites.
For many the fair is also a major entertainment event of the year. You can see families walking the fair grounds that probably don’t have the opportunity for vacations. They view the annual fair as the big entertainment event of the year.
The county fair is always a big event for kids and there’s certainly an atmosphere that leads to fun moments for everyone.
