Meandering Passage: Feed problems today

If you’re subscribed to the Meandering Passage RSS Feed I apologize for the many re-published post today….  I’ve installed a couple of WordPress Plug-ins today in an effort to improve my feeds and to help make them more secure from content stealing splogger bots.  The feed problem occurred during the testing process of a plugin.

Will OS X Leopard’s Finder be a real improvement?

The main new feature called “Cover Flow” gives you a view of your files using a interface similar to the cover view option in iTunes.  This new view presents a rolling preview of your files, applications, documents, etc. Very pretty, but how useful is it?James Stoup, Apple Matters, expressed his opinion on Cover Flow as being “Eye Candy.”…  Well, if they want to look through their music they would use iTunes, if they wanted to view their photos they would use iPhoto, and so that leaves what for Cover Flow to do?

Friends and Coworkers

I had the opportunity to have lunch last Wednesday with three people I worked with for many years.  They continue to work for the same company and many of their comments about work quickly reminded me that it’s the people and friends that I’ve missed, certainly not the company or the job.  I don’t think most of us appreciate those we share so much of our life’s with, those colleagues and coworkers that we see each day.

Apple iTunes becomes 3rd largest US music retailer

Apple iTunes now holds a 9.8% of market share of the US music retail business moving ahead of Amazon and following closely behind Walmart (15.8%) and Best Buy (13.8%) according to a recent report from market research firm NPD.  Digital music only accounts for 13.8% of total sales of music in the US with physical CD sales still accounting for 86.2% of all sales.  The iTunes move is notable because the NPD report considered all retailers, including brick and mortar stores, and not just on-line retailers.
