Apple updated it’s MacBook Pro line of notebooks today with Intel Santa Rosa architecture, Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz & 2.4Ghz processors, additional memory, LED backlit displays, and high-speed graphics processors.  This is a substantial upgrade and brings Apple to the forefront of laptop performance.

Apple also launched its annual back-to-school promotion with significant discounts to college students and teachers on new iPods, or a free nano, when they purchase a qualifying Mac system.  This offer is good through mid-September.

It was also reported this week that during the first quarter of 2007 Apples Xserver line of servers broke into the top-10 server brands.
