Via Global Voices Online, Kabissa 2.0 will be a social website that works for change in Africa through the use of technology. Kabissa 2.0 will combine the power of Web 2.0 with 900+ African organizations to develop and promote homegrown strategies for social change.

The Kabissa Organization provides internet services and training using technology to force changes in Africa. Kabissa is looking for a half of a million dollars funding to develop the new Kabissa 2.0 project with NetSquared.

Social Change in Africa Through Technology: Kabissa 2.0 | White African:
I’ve always been a huge believer that technology will be one of the cornerstones for massive change in Africa. It provides the ability to circumnavigate inefficient and out-of-date government and monopolistic institutions. Technology has a way of lowering barriers to change and creating new opportunities for those who really want to see something happen.

I’m always inspired when I see technology being used to improve the social and physical conditions of society.

Kabissa 2.0 is a much more worthy project then building a twitter-dee project who’s utter aim is to be sold eventually for some ridiculous amount of money.

    Hi -

Thanks again for helping to spread the word about the Netsquared competition. I wanted to let you know that the voting has been extended until monday, and also to make a pitch for TEN AFRICAN PROJECTS in the competition that are very much worth a vote. If you have already voted, it’s not too late to go back and update your ballot.

    Cheers,

    Tobias (from Kabissa)
