Apple Mac Cube and G4 Powerbook Upgrade Projects

In the next couple of weeks I’m going to gather my courage and carefully tackle some hardware upgrade projects. To many people these projects will be old hat, but to me they are new. I‚’ll be taking pictures and notating each step and observance to be posted here. These two projects include:

Upgrading a 450mhz PowerMac Cube to a Sonnet 1.2ghz CPU and replacing the stock video card with a GeForce3 card; and

Upgrading an Alu. 15 inch G4 Powerbook from a 80gb, 4500rpm, Fujitsu hard drive to a 100gb, 7200rpm, Seagate hard drive. I‚’ll also be mounting the 80gb drive in an external Firewire/USB enclosure.
