Imitation as sincere flattery

I’ll sometimes come across another photographer whose technique strikes my fancy to the point where I want to experiment in that same direction. In this case it was Grant Legassick using a technique of combining a panorama and sub-set photo to give a unique viewer experience–kind of a “here you are” moment.
