Apple Aperture is a photography workflow application similar to Adobe Lightroom. Aperture was actually initially released before Lightroom and the two have been competing since Lightroom was released soon after.

If you do an upgrade of DxO Optics Pro 5 on a Mac with Snow Leopard (10.6) you may get the following error message:

The solution for this error is rather simple:
“Run the download manager and choose the install on another computer option. This will place an install folder on your computer. Then run the installer [...]

For some time I’ve been working around a problem involving Adobe Photoshop (PS) CS4. When using a certain PS plugin I’d go into another select plugin and PS would crash. I could recreate this crash each time I repeated this sequence and I’ve reported it to Adobe, Apple and the plugin providers. This morning I [...]

Note: These findings are mostly from my older Mac Desktop which has many years of accumulation of odd utilities and applications. Your mileage may vary with your own Snow Leopard [...]

WordPress 2.8.3 has been released and addresses some addition privilege escalation security issues.
I did the automatic upgrade from WordPress 2.8.2 without incident. I did have someone try to hack this site once so I try and keep up with the security releases. Plus with the current WordPress automatic functions upgrades are mostly painless–knock on wood*.

I’m an Apple Mac fan, I love photography, I like new gadget news, I like to keep up with technical events on the web, I have friends with their own web sites/blogs, and I want to keep up with the technical/business/US/world news on the web. So I have a lot of feeds and the mix and number of feeds are constantly changing. Google Reader.pngFor years I’ve used the newsgator NetNewsWire client application for Mac OS X to manage, view and read the multitude of updates from these RSS feeds.
