Quick Look: Movie - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I’ve never read any of the Harry Potter books and I’ve only seen a few of the movies, mostly after they’ve come out on DVD. During this recent wedding weekend there was time to kill on Saturday so my daughter and her friend convinced me to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.I must say, this is the best Harry Potter movie…. It kept my attention and interest in the story…I didn’t look at my watch once. There’s a good bit of violence and suspense, so the PG-13 might be a good guide.
Quick Look: Movies - Ratatouille and Transformers
If you want to take your young kids to a movie you can all enjoy without being worried that there will be scenes that are inappropriate for them, this is it…. I didn’t check my watch once during Ratatouille, highly recommended.Transformers - Rated PG-13: First let me say that the special effects were very good, actually maybe too good. By that I mean the Transformer Robots were so detailed that when the fast action scenes were taking place it all seemed busy and confusing to the point of losing impact.
Quick Look: Bad Sinatra
After a few hours sleep here are my initial thoughts on it: Overall, interesting first effort. It was too long. I found myself looking to see how much time was left. I’d suggest shortening them to 20 minutes maximum and saving the remainder for the next episode…. Some type of Sinatra theme segue between the video sections, perhaps with names/locations would be a welcome addition for the viewers.
Quick Look: Nisus Writer Pro
On top of the feature that Writer Express had the Pro version has added: Table of ContentsIndexingBookmarksCross ReferencesAttribute Sensitive SearchText Wrap Around ImagesLine NumberingWindow and Orphan ControlExtended MacrosEnhanced Note StylesGlossariesand moreIf you want to compare Writer Express and the Writer Pro products, Nisus provides a handy chart for feature comparison.A huge consideration in selecting a main office application is what formats can it read and write documents in. If you have friends or colleges that use MS Windows or other word processors on a Mac or Linux you can probably exchange documents with them with no problems. Below are the formats that the Writer Pro can read/write documents in:As you can see, Rich Text Format is the preferred format, for both Writer Express and Pro. Rich Text Format is somewhat a universal format for written documents and is support by almost all word processors. You can often learn a great deal about an application by looking at it’s preferences.
