RHM Calendar 1
RHM Calendar-Inside
This week hundreds of freshly printed 2011 RHM Calendars were delivered to the RHM offices. These calendars are an annual tradition used as small thank-you gifts to donators/contributors. This year marks the first time they’ve printed a full color edition and the first time I’ve shot the photos for them.

I’ve got to admit it’s nice seeing my name on the back of each calendar listed as “photographs by.” ;-)

In previous years they’ve hired outside photographers to take the calendar photo. I was honored to be selected to do it this year and it was a rewarding experience.

Some of the calendar photos have been featured in my recent “Calendar Project” series of posts.

  1. Excellent, Earl. Congratulations on a job well done and a new learning experience.

  2. Nice job, Earl. Looks good!

    • Hi Eric, thank-you. I of course see every little flaw and identify things I’d do different now on some of the photos. I was asked the other day which was my favorite and my off the cuff answer was I was tired of all of them. I’m ready to move on to the next thing. ;-)

  3. Congratulations and you can be proud of this accomplishment. You are a good man and a good photographer. I smile as I wonder what comes next. :-)

  4. Congratulations Earl! Despite my lack of commenting, I’ve been noticing how strong your people-photography skills have become. Good on you. You deserve it.

    • Hi Richard, thanks and great to hear from you. I appreciate all the kind words. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season!

  5. Congratulations and fine work Earl. It’s something you can look at with great pride, and rightly so. I too look forward to seeing what comes next.

    • Thank-you very much, PJ. I am proud of it but it also drives me to want to do improve or at least to continue to expand my horizons. I’m ready to take another step…

  6. Congratulations, Earl. The photos from this project that were posted on your blog are beautiful. Great job.

  7. Congratulations on this current achievement. I’m glad they gave you the opportunity to show what you can do. You deserve the recognition.

    • Don, I’m glad they did too, but I wish I’d had a little more time with it. I had to make all the photos (covering ongoing events), rough select, post-process, present and then do a final selection within approximately 45 days. Not as much time as it sounds like. :-)

  8. Congratulations, Earl! From what you tould about the cause of your work, this was certainly worth to be done with all your skills and capabilities. I am glad you found a position where you really can do what you are best at.

  9. Congratulations! You must feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment with this project.

    • Hi Mark, I feel good about the project as much about what I learn from doing it as anything else. Thanks!
